The beach at San Antolín

This is the biggest beach in the borough. It is almost completely straight and measures about 1,200 metres in length and 62 metres in width. It is located at the mouth of the river Bedón, next to the little village of San Antolín.

Despite its rural environment, the beach is clasified as semi-urban due to the following factors: firstly, the large number of people who use the beach, secondly, the ease of access from the main road the A-8 via Naves, thirdly, it has a large number of parking spaces, fourthly, it has a life guard service, danger signals, a Red Cross post, waste bins and a beach cleaning service. Finally, it has a refreshments stall in the high season and a sea side walkway, renovated only a few years ago.
The beach is considered highly dangerous for bathing, due to its strong waves. It is however, much used by surfers.
