The beach at Buelna

This is classified aas a natural beach both because its great beauty and its marvellous countryside. It was formed as a result of a group of various depressions in the limestone. There is an enormous pinacle, locally called, “El Picón”, the Great Peak. The beach, some 50 metres in length, is very irregular, shaped like a large channel and which opens out to a length of 1,000 metres at low tide.

Access to the beach is via an agricultural track, which you can find in the village. Its shape makes the beach very safe at high tide. Despit the fact that there are no services, the beach is very popular. This is probably due to the proximity of the village and to its lovely setting, where there are a variety of interesting limestone features, bufones, lapiaces, dolines etc.
